“She made me feel empowered throughout my pregnancy to have the birth that I wanted. Jena is super supportive of your needs and wants for your pregnancy and birth and was so empathetic to all the emotions I went through during my pregnancy and labour.

Her kindness, thoughtfulness and time spent making sure I (and my partner) felt comfortable and supported were very much appreciated and needed. Jena is so passionate and clearly cares very deeply about women, birthing people, and babies. I love that she is so passionate about reproductive justice and the fire that is within her to make sure everyone deserves the same rights when it comes to birth. She helped give me confidence to make my own informed choices not just around pregnancy and birth but in every day life. Not only did Jena give me emotional and mental support during labour but she also got the most beautiful photos capturing the entire birth. These are photos I never thought I would want but to see the moments she caught on camera are ones my family with always cherish. Being able to look back not only on the progression of the birth but to see the support of my sister and partner when I was in the thick of labour is a side I would never been able to see if it weren’t for these photos. Jena is a trifecta - doula, birth photographer and mother.

“My pregnancy and birth was so much easier thanks to Jena! From the moment I reached out to ask her to be my doula, she was a wealth of information to both me and my partner. She had all the answers and advice I needed that didn't fall under medical advice, of course. She met me at my level, never pushing for anything, always so encouraging and patient. Her knowledge is outstanding. Her assistance in creating our birth plan was so helpful and she walked us through all the details that were new and unknown to first time parents.

When it came time for my labour, I knew it was too early to call my midwives but Jena showed up at 1am to help me through a very long labour, using her expertise to support me and my partner through the process. She helped me use natural methods to encourage my labour and seemed to know what I needed before I needed it. So immensely grateful to have had Jena at the birth of our daughter.”

“This is one of those experiences where it's difficult to summarize how important of a role Jena played as a Doula during the birth of our child. 

One thing, amongst a list of incredible traits Jena has, is her ability to connect in the moment to support with her vast understanding and knowledge. This ability, in a time where emotions are heightened, provided a sense of ease throughout the entire experience.
